Childcare during job fair

Free On-Site Childcare: Investing in Your Future

At the Chicago Urban League, we understand that finding reliable childcare shouldn’t be a hurdle on your path to professional success. To help you focus entirely on connecting with employers and securing your next role, we are proud to offer free, short-term childcare during the Citywide Job Fair.

Service Details

  • Date: June 17, 2026

  • Duration: Up to two (2) hours per family.

  • Cost: Completely Free.

How It Works: First-Come, First-Served

To ensure a safe and high-quality environment for all children, spaces are strictly limited. Please be advised of the following:

  • No Pre-Registration: Childcare spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis starting when the doors open.

  • Limited Capacity: Once we reach our maximum safety capacity, we will be unable to accept additional children until a spot becomes available.

  • Time Limit: To serve as many families as possible, there is a two-hour maximum limit per child. This allows you ample time to navigate the fair, speak with recruiters, and hand out resumes.

Arrive Early to Secure Your Spot

We highly encourage all participants requiring childcare to arrive at the Job Fair early. Demand for this service is expected to be high. By arriving at the start of the event, you increase your chances of securing a spot and removing the “childcare barrier,” allowing you to dedicate your full energy to bettering your career.

Important Notes for Parents:

  • A parent or legal guardian must remain on-site at the Citywide Job Fair at all times while their child is in our care.

  • Please ensure your child has been fed and changed prior to check-in, as our staff provides supervision rather than full-day nursery services.

Don’t let anything stand in the way of your next big break. We look forward to seeing you—and helping you succeed—on June 17th!
